HAPPY BIRTHDAY MISTER ROGERS!

PBS legend Fred Rogers would have been 84 years old today. He passed away in 2003.

Fred Rogers was a pioneer in children’s television who created a place where children feel safe, respected and cared for.

For more than forty years Mister Rogers has served as a trusted guide to help children learn about themselves, their neighbors and the world around them.

Mr. Rogers—one of my personal heroes—a gentle man.  His birthday was on March 20th.

The suicide of a loved one.
I read, “Accept that you’ll never be the person you were before.”
I read, “You’ll never get over it, but things will get better.”
I read, “Everything happens for a reason.”
It’s physically impossible for me to scream loud and long enough to vent my anger and frustration.

This is a photo of my wee black dog, Maggie Teagan—she’s my alter ego.  We’re kind of a terrier family.  I like the scruffiness and scrappiness of terriers.  Maggie is about 4 years old.  Our previous Scottie, Hamish, contracted lymphoma and passed away at the age of 7.  He was a really awesome little guy, always up for anything.  Prior to the Scotties, we’ve had a couple of Schnauzers, and they’re great little dogs, but a little on the yappy side—Scotties tend to be more stoic.
I’m Donna, a 50-something wife and mom of two grown boys, and a Christian.  I became a Christian in 1969 at the age of 17 through a Baptist church in Modesto, California, where I grew up.  It was the single most important decision of my life, and has influenced every aspect of my life since then.
